I have posted commitments of players younger than that.

I don't think the coaching staff's attitude has changed regarding transfers. They did not go into the spring and summer saying "let's get a couple of transfers." They shy away from accepting transfers because of the reasons most kids transfer, a lack of playing time and issues getting along with their coaches and teammates. All three of the current transfers are coming out of programs in disarray and especially with Stevens and Camara, current UConn players have played with them or been in U.S. junior national trials with them so they know what and who they are getting.

Jim Fullerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04368670098808413048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36311952.post-24202284567545947422016-05-24T16:27:27.300-04:002016-05-24T16:27:27.300-04:00Since this story involves a teenager - and not Cli...Since this story involves a teenager - and not Clinton or Trump - why did the Courant not wait until UConn could officially announce this rumored transfer per NCAA guidelines?

Walk-on players were needed a couple seasons ago to fill UConn's practice squad on the road. UConn has a small incoming class for 2016 with 3 players, only 1 ranked. As of right now, UConn does not have a large incoming verbal class for 2017.

Transfers in WCBB have appeared to spike in the last 3 seasons, for various reason. UConn has averaged approximately 1 transfer out per year, since Delle Donne.

Auriemma has not been a huge fan of accepting transfers into UConn, since the players have less time to learn UConn basketball way of life.

Did the UConn coaching staff adjust their historic mindset in order to avoid searching for walk-on players again? Did the UConn coaches decide the current roster plus 2016 class and potential 2017 class did not give the Huskies a legitimate shot at National Championship #12?

If this former Kentucky player does sign with UConn, look forward to possible Auriemma statements on UConn's rarity of 3 transfers on 1 squad.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
