Stokes honored

UConn incoming freshman Kiah Stokes was named the Linn County Female Athlete of the Year.

Stokes, a 6-foot-3 center at Linn-Mar High in Marion, Iowa, was named Iowa's Miss Basketball after averaging 25 points, 14.9 rebounds and 5.6 blocks per game. She was also an all-state selection in volleyball after recording 301 kills.
