UConn's Mosqueda-Lewis a candidate for USBWA freshman of the year
UConn's Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis is one of five candidates for the United States Basketball Writers Association Women's National Freshman of the Year.
Mosqueda-Lewis is UConn's second leading scorer, averaging 14.4 points per game and set a program freshman record with 75 3-pointers.
She is joined on the list of candidates by Duke's Elizabeth Williams, Ariel Massengale of Tennessee, Kentucky's Bria Goss and Liz Donohue of Oklahoma State.
The winner will be announced at the USBWA breakfast on Apr. 3 at the Final Four.
The USBWA also announced its 10 candidates for Coach of the Year but Geno Auriemma did not make the list.
