Rachele Fico keeps on winning
While this is not UConn related, I thought some of you might be interested in the latest on former Masuk High star Rachele Fico, who is as dominant an athlete this state has ever produced.
After a memorable junior season when she pitched the LSU softball team into the College World Series Fico took a couple weeks off before suiting up for the Brakettes.
On Thursday night Fico allowed four singles and struck out eight to beat the Connecticut Eliminators 10-1. The win improved her record to 78-0 in her five seasons with the Brakettes. She broke Hall of Famer Barbara Reinalda's team record of 77 straight wins set from 1990-94.
Here's a link to the story I wrote off her record-breaking performance

Why are the Brakettes not in the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) league?
They tried the NPF a few years ago and it didn't work out too well. They don't have a sponsor and money is fight so they'd go bankrupt trying to come up with the money to be in the pro league.
