Unfortunately, one of those updates included some sad news for former Husky Tiffany Hayes.
Hayes was enjoying an outstanding season in Israel playing for Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion, averaging 18.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.7 steals a game but she abruptly left the team for what was termed "personal reasons" and the team signed fellow WNBA 2012 rookie phenom Riquna Williams to replace her.
Curious what "personal reasons" resulted in her departure, I found the answer on twitter where Hayes reported that her grandmother passed away.
So Hayes is no longer with the team? What options does she have between now and the WNBA season?
ReplyDeleteSee can sign with another team or stay in the U.S. and train for the start of the WNBA season. It's not unusual for players to play only through January or start playing for overseas teams after Jan. 1.
