As expected, lawyers for UConn women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma have refiled the motion to dismiss the lawsuit filed by NBA security official Kelley Hardwick.
As I provided the link to the motion above, I will merely highlight the points of the motion to dismiss.
As the previous motion also focused on, Auriemma and his representatives are disputing Hardwick's right to sue him in a New York court since he does not reside or work in the state of New York as well as stating that Hardwick's amended complaint does not support a claim of Auriemma being an aider or abettor.
Auriemma is also questioning how Hardwick being assigned to security detail for the U.S. men's Olympic basketball team can fall under the category of "significantly diminished material responsibilities."
After smacking Mulkey's behind, the real Geno is starting to show. Geno fans will say it was harmless. But in this day and age, that's grounds for a sexual assault lawsuit. I doubt the accuser will withdraw the lawsuit. No matter how much good a sports figure has done, fans do not know everything there is to know about the person they worship. Hopefully UConn will be smart enough not to erect a Geno statue.
ReplyDeleteThe court acting on the suit of Hardwick will take the "slap on the rear of Mulkey"as further indications that Hardwick's suit is valid.
ReplyDeleteThat court may have people on it that have never heard of Geno. He is notorious for being outrageous and loud of mouth.
Coaching won't get him out of this mess.
But it is interesting to note that everytime a significant event in Geno's basketball world arises, so does the suit.
