UConn not in Asia Durr's top five

ESPN is reporting that top Class of 2015 guard Asia Durr's top five schools are Baylor, Duke, Louisville, Maryland and Notre Dame. UConn was among the schools cut from consideration for the player competing with UConn commit Katie Lou Samuelson to be the top-rated player in the class.

It was not a surprise that UConn failed to make the cut. When I was in Colorado Springs, the sense I was getting was that UConn wasn't going to be there at the end for Durr. However, it was somewhat of a surprise to see no SEC teams in the final five.

Barring any surprises, I would think this closes the book on the Class of 2015 recruiting for UConn. The Huskies are in pretty good shape to say the least with De'Janae Boykin, Napheesa Collier and Katie Lou Samuelson coming into the program next season.

For a long time the word out of Georgia was that Durr's was UConn's to lose. Her father spoke convincingly when he said there would definitely be a visit to Storrs. Something happened, possibly the signing of Nurse which may have caused the family to question where Asia would fit in.
