UConn's Auriemma moving on from most publicized phone call of his career

Geno Auriemma is down in Maryland getting ready for the start of the U.S. national team training camp which starts today. Before getting to work he called into the Chaz & AJ show on WPLR and naturally they asked him about UConn receiving a secondary violation for his congratulatory phone call to Little League star Mo'ne Davis.

"It is like getting called into the prinicpal's office and going 'look, don't do that again or I am going to call your mother' because they know it is the dumbest thing ever and it is so laughable it makes everything look silly," Auriemma said. "There are 357 Division I schools or something like that and one person has a problem with me calling that kid. If there was a problem and it was really bad there would have been 300 schools who would have turned me in so it was just one person with a bug up their butt. What are you going to do? That is the world we live in."

The school which reported UConn and Auriemma to the American Athletic Conference, a move resulting in UConn being hit with a secondary violation by the NCAA, is not yet known. For those thinking it was old nemesis Tennessee, well according to Dan Fleser, the outstanding Tennessee beat writer for the Knoxville News Sentinel, reported that the Lady Vols were not the team making the call on Geno's call.
