Former UConn star Tina Charles comes through for Fenerbahce
Tina Charles seemed rather determined to keep her dreams for the EuroLeague title alive.
The former UConn star had 19 points, nine rebounds, two steals and two blocked shots in a 63-52 win against Galatasaray to lead her Fenerbahce team into the EuroLeague Final Four.
Charles, who averaged 13.3 points and 10.3 rebound in the three-game series, is the second former Husky to deliver a world-class performance to close out a quarterfinal series as Diana Taurasi also had an impressive showing as UMMC Ekaterinburg closed out Nadezhda in two games. Taurasi averaged 16 points and 4.5 assists in the quarterfinal series.
