UConn senior forward Maya Moore, who needs 23 points in tonight's game at South Florida to become the Huskies' all-time leading scorer, is one of 12 candidates for United States Sports Academy Female Athlete of the Year.

She joins Lauren Jackson of the Seattle Storm as the only basketball players on the list and the only other Americans to make the cut are volleyball star Foluke Akinradewo, golfer Cristie Kerr, skiing star Lindsey Vonn and tennis star Serena Williams.
