Good starts for UConn recruiting targets
Although we are still about a month away from the start of the girls' basketball season here in the Northeast, that is not the case in Texas.
With the season already underway, I figured I would pass on the fact that UConn Class of 2014 recruiting targets Recee' Caldwell and Brianna Turner led their teams to season-opening wins.
On Monday Caldwell had 13 points as Johnson High in San Antonio defeated city rival John Jay 49-44. On Tuesday, Turner had 14 points as Manvel High kicked off the 2012-13 season with a 75-26 win over Madison.
Changing gears to the current recruiting class, the volleyball career of UConn commit Saniya Chong came to an end last night as her Ossining (N.Y.) team lost to Ursuline 3-2.
Ossining was one game away from advancing to the Section 1 Class A final before Ursuline won game four 25-17 and game five 25-19.
Chong had 20 kills and 10 digs to finish her senior year with 377 kills and 132 digs.
