Milestone for Doty
Considering the number of games the UConn women's basketball team plays on an annual basis, reaching 100 career games is a milestone that usually comes and goes with little fanfare.
However, when somebody like Caroline Doty who has had to persevere through a series of serious knee injuries, is the only playing in her 100th career game with the Huskies I think it is something worth mentioning.
I asked Geno Auriemma for his take on the Doty playing her 100th career game on Monday night.
"We've had kids who played a lot of games," Auriemma said. "We've been unfortunate with somebody like Shea and all those ACL problems and how much it affected her career and to have Caroline fight through three ACLs, obviously it is not easy to do that. That takes a lot of character. Hopefully you get rewarded for something like that and that is why I am rooting for her, I hope she gets rewarded for how long she had to fight."
