ESPN analyst considers Kelly Faris 2012 Final Four effort a historic one
It never fails that if I am advancing a Final Four game between UConn and Notre Dame, I can count on ESPN's Doris Burke to provide an insight that fits perfectly with the story I want to write.
This morning it was no different as I asked her to compare and contrast in impact of seniors Skylar Diggins and Kelly Faris have had on the Notre Dame and UConn programs. I will use what she said on the subject in a story running in tomorrow's Register but I thought people would find Burke's remarkable praise of Faris' effort in last year's national semifinal rather intriguing.
"What she did in last year's national semifinals, I have told my friends is the single greatest effort I have ever seen in a short span of time in a college basketball game," Burke said. "The only other thing that came close to me, I was a fan watching Louisiana Tech and Teresa Weatherspoon completely turned around a national championship game against Auburn. It is the only other thing I can liken it to so equal impact, different ways."
