WNBA honors Taurasi twice
Former UConn star Diana Taurasi was named the WNBA's Western Conference Player of the Week and then a couple hours later added the Western Conference Player of the Month for June to her collection.
Taurasi averaged 21 points, six rebounds and seven assists to lead the Phoenix Mercury to road wins against San Antonio, Washington and Connecticut.
During the month of June Taurasi averaged 24.2 points and 5.3 assists per game to lead the Mercury to a 7-3 record including a franchise-record five-game road winning streak..
Angel McCoughtry of the Atlanta Dream won the Eastern Conference's Player of the Month honor while Chicago's Elena Delle Donne was selected as the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.
