Staying under control key for UConn's Stewart

During both games that UConn played in Lincoln, the player who played the best defense on Breanna Stewart early in the game might have been Stewart herself.

Stewart wanted so badly to positively impact the game that there were times when it looked like she was trying to score 10 points on every possession. With the margin for error narrowing with each passing game, Stewart knows she will need to keep her emotions in check to play her best.

"I think it was just needing to calm myself down," Stewart said. "It is frustrating if you miss and just to get a quick breather, calm myself and get back into the game (helped in both the BYU and Texas A&M game)."

ESPN's Rebecca Lobo was the star on UConn's first national title winning team and she knows what Stewart is dealing with.

"When your shot is not going, that is as you get older what you learn, you want to play well, your shot is not falling so what else can you do but when you are young so you are thinking 'my shot is not falling so I am not contributing," Lobo said.
