Sydney Carter waived by Sun
Sydney Carter, who provided some quality play when she was signed as an injury replacement player, was let go by the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday.
Carter's release was mandatory with Renee Montgomery and Tan White both expected back in time for the Sun's three-game road trip.
“It is with much reluctance that we must release Sydney Carter,” Sun head coach Anne Donovan said. “Syd did a tremendous job filling some of the hole we have had at the point guard position and was an absolute pleasure to work with.”
Carter, a 5-foot-6 guard, 4.5 points and 2.8 assists in six games.
The Sun begin the road trip at Tulsa on Friday and play at San Antonio the following day before wrapping up the road trip by playing at Atlanta on July 24.
