Jefferson reluctantly sitting out UConn's exhibition finale

Coming off an impressive showing in UConn's 101-35 victory over Gannon University the last thing Moriah Jefferson wanted to do was sit out practice and be held out of tomorrow's preseason tilt against Philadelphia.

However, she realizes that her tender ankle could benefit from a couple more days of treatment so Jefferson will not play in tomorrow night's exhibition game.

"It is just a precaution so I don’t make it worse," Jefferson said after Monday's practice.

"It is tough to watch practice. I am sitting her saying OK, come on but I talked to the coaches and Rosemary (Ragle, UConn's athletic trainer) about that it is probably the best decision to (sit)."
