UConn/Louisville contest will be Play 4Kay game
Sunday's UConn/Louisville game will be its annual Play 4Kay contest as fans can donate to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund leading up to and during the showdown with No. 4 Louisville.
Each fan in attendance Sunday will receive a free pink pom pom and all fans are encouraged to wear pink in an effort to raise awareness for cancer research.
Last year, UConn fans donating over $30,000 to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
Ways to Donate This Year
This year, fans have several donating options online, via phone and in-venue. Fans can donate $10 by simply texting “4KAY HUSKIES” to 85944 or can visit Play4Kay.org/UCONN to donate online.
The women’s basketball team has also put 28 items up for auction, which can be accessed by clicking this line or visiting http://uconnhuskies.cstvauctions.com/gallery.cfm. Items include signed posters, signed basketballs, game-worn uniforms from Sunday’s contest, the ties head coach Geno Auriemma will wear on Sunday and on Feb. 16 at USF, and VIP Courtside seating experiences to UConn’s game vs. UCF on Feb. 19. All proceeds will benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
Additionally, members of UConn SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Council) will be collecting donations in Gampel Pavilion during Sunday’s game.
