Some nasty stuff surrounding UConn recruiting target's school
I've mentioned on a couple of occasions that UConn is interested in 6-foot-9 Felicia Aiyeotan. Geno Auriemma made his way down to see Aiyeotan play for Philadelphia area powerhouse Neumann-Goretti, currently the No. 1 team in the USA Today national poll. The high school junior, who is originally from Nigeria, is a work in progress who is making strides both at the high school level and with the Philadelphia Belles AAU program.
It would seem to be a great, feel-good story. Perhaps if Aiyeotan, who is drawing interest from most of the women's basketball A-list programs, were to head to UConn and emerge into a WNBA level player it would make for one heck of a story. Unfortunately, another type of story has been written about Aiyeotan and Texas commit Christina Aborowa, a fellow native of Nigeria, in which a rival coach has been accused to sending emails to Texas coach Karen Aston and athletic director Chris Plonsky bringing into question the NCAA eligibility of Aborowa
