UConn's Jefferson in the running for another Lieberman Award
UConn senior Moriah Jefferson is one of five finalists for the Nancy Lieberman Award, presented annually to the nation's premier point guard.
Jefferson, who won the award in 2015, heads into the NCAA tournament leading the undefeated Huskies with 167 assists and 83 steals and is the team's second-leading scorer with an average of 12.6 points per game.
Notre Dame's Lindsay Allen, Baylor's Niya Johnson, Ohio State's Kelsey Mitchell and Maryland's Brene Moseley are the other finalists.

Jefferson's non stop effort and endless energy are unparalleled. Same for Stewart. Hope that Jefferson wins.
However, ESPN experts and other WCBB writers know that Jefferson and other UConn guards have benefitted immensely from the safety net known as the UConn shot blockers.
Dolson, Stokes, and Stewart have allowed Jefferson and the other UConn guards to gamble more on defense.
Next season, UConn's press might not be as effective as this season and the previous 3 seasons. And since UConn's offense is often generated by its pressing defense, I would expect the Huskies scoring to dip lower.
