UConn recruit Breanna Stewart wins New York's Miss Basketball
UConn incoming freshman Breanna Stewart continues to reel in prestigious individual accolwas as she was named the winner of New York's Miss Basketball Award on Monday.
Stewart, a 6-foot-4 forward at Cicero-North Syracuse High, recently was named the winner of the Naismith national high school player of the year and is New York's Gatorade player of the year for the state of New York.
Stewart has her Cicero-North Syracuse team into the New York AA semifinals where the Northstars will face Ossining on Friday at 8 p.m. at Hudson Valley Community College. Ossining is led by high-scoring junior guard Saniya Chong who is on UConn's recruiting radar.
