UConn and SNY just announced that all three major sports airing on the station have seen a ratings surge in the last year.

The largest increase is in football where the ratings doubled from a year ago in the Hartford-New Haven area highlighted by the Nov. 24 game against Louisville drawing a 3.90 household rating.

For men's basketball, there has been a 24 percent increase while in the first season that SNY is the regional broadcast partner for the women's basketball program, there has been a 14 percent jump to a 5.14 household rating. The most viewed UConn game on SNY to date is the Nov. 23 game against Marist.

HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE AT GAMPEL

The UConn Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will host their annual Holiday Toy Drive at tomorrow's game against Penn State as well as the men's game versus Harvard on Friday. The toy drive will benefit local children in need and will be donated to the Salvation Army in Willimantic and the Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford.

Fans are encouraged to bring new toys to the North, South and East Entrances until halftime where they will be collected by the women's lacrosse team at Thursday's game and the women's rowing team at Friday's contest.
