UConn commits could square off in TOC
UConn commits Saniya Chong and Courtney Ekmark could be on a collision course in the prestigious Nike Tournament of Champions which is being held next week in the Phoenix area.
Chong, the only member of the current senior class to commit to the Huskies, will lead her Ossining (N.Y.) team against Mater Dei out of Santa Ana, Calif. which features UConn Class of 2015 recruiting target Katie Lou Samuelson at 3 p.m. local time on Dec. 20 at Hamilton High School. After that game, Ekmark leads No. 1 nationally-ranked St. Mary's out of Phoenix against Dr. Phillips from Orlando, Fla. The winners will meet at 5:30 p.m. (Arizona time) on the 21st with the losers playing at 3 p.m. on Friday.
A couple of other Class of 2014 UConn recruiting targets are also playing in the tournament. Jordin Canada and the Windward School out of Los Angeles meets E.S. Saint-Laurent out of Quebec on Thursday in a Division G first-round game. Sierra Calhoun and Christ the King plays St. Mary's from Berkeley, Calif. in the Joe Smith Division at 11:15 a.m. on the 20th.

Chong, Earmark, Calhoun, Canada wouldn't it be nice if they all went to UConn?? Isn't there someone on that Canadian PQ team that may interest Shea Ralph?? Shoemaker Uconn, Seaton Hall had a great Canadian guard and these ladies proved they can play with the best. With SNY national coverage in a few years Uconn will look more like home to a lot of ladies whose families can see every game they play unlike podunk U where none of their games are broadcast.
