UConn's Breanna Stewart a Sullivan Award semifinalist

UConn freshman forward Breanna Stewart is one of 15 candidates for the Sullivan Award which is presented annually to the nation's top amateur athlete.

Stewart was named the MVP of the FIBA Americas U18 Championship, was a highly-decorated player at Cicero-North Syracuse (N.Y.) High before heading to UConn where she is the Huskies' third-leading scorer, second-leading rebounder and has a team-high 53 blocked shots.

Other basketball candidates are Baylor's Brittney Griner and Delaware's Elena Delle Donne. Votes for the award are being accepted through March 17.
