UConn's Stewart named Associated Press Player of Year
UConn sophomore Breanna Stewart added an honor to her growing collection as she was named the Associated Press National Player of the Year.
Stewart joined former Husky Maya Moore and Oklahoma's Courtney Paris as the only sophomores to win the award. So what part of her season is she most proud of?
"I think it was the way I came back after last year to be consistent throughout the entire season and be consistently good," Stewart said. "I think I set high expectations and coming out of high school you want to be successful but it doesn't compare to what can happen this weekend. Stewart was also named to the WBCA All-American team meaning she will be inducted into the Huskies of Honor.
Stewart was especially thrilled that her parents and brother were able to fly in last night so they could be there for the ceremony.
"I was happy they flew in last night, my brother it was short so he could sit through it," Stewart said. "
