2 coaches of UConn commits finalists for Naismith honor
The five finalists for the Naismith Girls High School Coach of the Year includes a pair who coach UConn commits.
Kevin Kiernan of California powerhouse Mater Dei has coached UConn incoming freshman Katie Lou Samuelson for the last three seasons and coached current UConn star Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis before that. Chad Hibdon of Blackman High in Murfreesboro, Tenn., has a talented roster led by Class of 2016 UConn commit Crystal Dangerfield.
Corry Irvin of Whitney Young in Chicago, Andrea Peterson of Neumann-Goretti in Philadelphia (including 6-foot-9 junior Felicia Aiyeotan who is on UConn's recruiting radar) and Delaney Rudd, who coaches New Hope Christian Academy, are the other finalists.
