UConn's Jefferson, Stewart, Tuck named to All-AAC team

UConn placed three players on the six-member All-American Athletic Conference first team as Morgan Tuck was joined by unanimous selections Moriah Jefferson and Breanna Stewart.

Jefferson was also the unanimous pick as the Defensive Player of the Year and Tuck was named as the winner of the AAC's Sportsmanship Award.

Kia Nurse was named as a third-team selection while Napheesa Collier and Katie Lou Samuelson (unanimous selection) were named to the All-Freshman team.

South Florida's Courtney Williams was also a unanimous first-team pick while teammate Kitija Laksa was unanimously selected to the all-freshman team and as a second-team selection was the only freshman named to either of the three all-conference teams.

The coach of the year, player of the year, freshman of the year and scholar-athlete of the year will be announced at a press conference on Friday at 2 p.m. at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Sorry but these AAC lists make no sense. How can voters justify Morgan Tuck on the first team based on the 2015-16 season? Is this a 3 year conference career award?

Tuck missed several games, played a good game against non-conference South Carolina, and followed it up with 6 or 7 horrible shooting performances in the AAC.

Meanwhile, Gabby Williams has been a spark plug all season for UConn and gets no recognition. That is a ripoff.
