Updated timetable in lawsuit against Geno Auriemma

Lawyers for UConn women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma and USA Basketball recently filed motions to dismiss the employee discrimination lawsuit filed on behalf of security officer Kelley Hardwick.

Today Hardwick's lawyer filed paperwork extending the time to amend the complaint. Hardwick and her representatives have until Oct. 25 to file an amended complaint while Auriemma and USA Basketball have until Nov. 1 to advise Hardwick's lawyers how each will proceed. If motions to dismiss the charges are re-filed, as they figure to be, then Hardwick's attorneys have until Nov. 26 to serve opposition papers.

Once they do that, the return date to file motions to dismiss are adjorned until Dec. 14.

In other words, this case is turning into a battle of legal filings and figures to drag out for a while.

The NBA, which was also part of the lawsuit, has not issued a motion to dismiss the charges but have denied all of Hardwick's claims. The schedule and deadlines to file motions has yet to be agreed on by the parties.
