Another milestone for Saniya Chong
UConn signee Saniya Chong became the all-time leading scorer in New York high school girls' basketball Section I history.
Chong, a 5-foot-9 guard from Ossining, N.Y., needed 39 to break Karen O'Connor's record. She ended up with 40. Fittingly, the play which pushed her by O'Connor was a 3-pointer late in the third quarter and that broke the New York career record for most career 3-pointers.
SUN OPEN SEASON ON MAY 25
The WNBA released its 2013 schedule today and UConn opens up at home against Bill Laimbeer and the New York Liberty before playing four of the next five games on the road.
Some home games of interest include:
June 7: Former Connecticut Sun Mike Thibault returns to Mohegan Sun Arena as head coach of Washington Mystics
June 16: Former UConn star Sue Bird and Seattle comes to town
June 29: Ex Husky Diana Taurasi and Phoenix come to Mohegan
Aug. 22: Minnesota Lynx, featuring former UConn star Maya Moore, will play at Mohegan
