UConn signee Samuelson lighting it up
The minor knee injury that resulted in UConn incoming freshman Katie Lou Samuelson scoring a season-low seven points in a January 26 game against Orange Lutheran and miss the next two games was merely a temporary road block.
Samuelson has returned in a major way, hitting 30 points as her Mater Dei team won three games in four games including last night's victory over Nevada powerhouse Bishop Gorman.
Samuelson scored 31, 38 and 32 points, making 16 3-pointers in the process, as Mater Dei extended its winning streak to 21 games.
Also, Class of 2016 commit Kyla Irwin opened February with back to back 20-point games.
The junior at State College (Pa.) High School had 20 points and tied a season high with three 3-pointers against CD East on Tuesday and two days later had 28 points against Miffin County.
