More honors for Montgomery

Renee Montgomery, who was named the Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award earlier in the day, was named the winner of the Big East Sportsmanship Award and joined teammates Maya Moore and Tina Charles as unanimous first team All-Big East selections.
Angel McCoughtry of Louisville, Laura Kurz of Villanova, Epiphanny Prince of Rutgers and Pittsburgh's Shavonte Zellous were also unanimous picks and were joined on the first team by Louisville's Candyce Bingham, South Florida's Shantia Grace, Syracuse's Chandrea Jones and Lindsay Schrader of Notre Dame.

McCoughtry was named the defensive player of the year, Kurz and West Virginia's Sarah Miles shared the most improved award and DePaul's China Threatt was selected the Sixth Man of the Year.

Former Trinity Catholic star Da'Shena Stevens was the only unanimous pick on the All-Freshman team meaning Tiffany Hayes was not considered to be one of the league's top 10 freshmen in the opinion of at least one coach.

The player of the year, freshman of the year, coach of the year and scholar-athlete of the year awards will be announced on Friday at a press conference between the first two sessions of the tournament.
