UConn's Hartley, Hayes are WBCA All-Region candidates
UConn sophomore guard Bria Hartley and senior guard Tiffany Hayes are among 12 WBCA All-Region honorees in Region 1.
Hayes leads UConn in scoring, averaging 15.1 points per game, is second on the team with an average of 5.7 rebounds per game, leads the team with 73 steals and is third with 114 assists. Hartley is the third-leading scorer (13.6 points per game), is second on the squad with 124 assists and 53 3-pointers and third with 64 steals.
Other players named to the All-Region 1 squad are Temple's Shey Peddy, the Notre Dame trio of Skylar Diggins, Natalie Novosel and Devereaux Peters, Shoni Schimmel of Louisville, the St. John's trio of Nadirah McKenith, Shenneika Smith and former Trinity Catholic star Da'Shena Stevens, Sugar Rodgers of Georgetown and DePaul's Anna Martin.
There were a total of 52 players named to all-region team. The list will be paired to 40 and those players will be finalists for the 10-member WBCA All-American team which will be announced during the Final Four.

Don't really get how UConn's KML is left of the team at 15ppg and 5rpg on 43% shooting but hits 85 3's on 216 attempts but SJU's Stevens misses 10 games and only averages 11ppg and 6rpg on 43% FG shooting but hits no 3's on 3 attempts. #SMH #NoRespect
